Multiple District 105 Lioness Clubs Chairman Phyllis King welcomed all to Conference.

Conference commenced with registration on the Friday afternoon followed in true Lioness style with an evening of ‘Pig Racing’. Eight battery operated pink fluffy pigs waddled and wagged their tails along a course to the finish post. Great excitement was had by all. There was also a best dressed hat competition. (The winners are shown second from left)

Conference stood to welcome the top table guests: Multiple District 105 Lioness Clubs Chairman Phyllis King, Council Chairman PDG Lion Andy Pemberton, Lioness Clubs Co-ordinator Lion Chris Ramsden, District Governor of our Host District W, Lion Martin Ruddle and The Right Worshipful The Mayor of Gloucester, Councillor Chris Witts, together with their partners.
The four flags were marched in by Dursley District Senior Section to music played by Sharpness & District Silver Band. The Right Worshipful The Mayor of Gloucester, Councillor Chris Witts, officially opened Conference.
Following the opening ceremony some partners were taken on a tour of Gloucester.
The Morning session began with the roll call. Number of Lioness Clubs represented was 13, number of Lionesses present 58 and number of Lions present 22.
There was only one resolution to be debated, regarding subscriptions. It was proposed that MD subscriptions should increase by 50p from 1st July 2010, thus raising the subscriptions for the fiscal year 2010/11 at £10.50 per Lioness, payable on or before 31st July 2010, based on the number of Lionesses per club at 1st July 2010. The resolution was passed.
There
was one nomination for the post of MD Lioness Chairman for 2010 – 2012 and
Lioness Pam Kyte of Sleaford Lioness Club was duly elected
There was only one nomination for the post of Deputy MD Lioness Chairman
for 2010 – 1012 and Lioness June Mills of Downham Market Lioness Club was
duly elected.
There was only one nomination for the post of MD Treasurer for 2010 –
2012 and Lioness Phyllis King of Paddock Wood Lioness Club was duly elected.
There followed 2 presentations, the first was about the Advisory Body presented by Lionesses Phyllis King and Pam Kyte
The second was a PR and IT/Website presentation given by Lionesses Margaret Fox and Pat White.
Chairman of Council Lion Andy Pemberton addressed Conference.
The afternoon session started with the workshops. These were to discuss the updating of the information in the Lioness Manual for Presidents, Secretaries & Treasurers. There was also a workshop to discuss the updating of the new members pack.
After a break for Coffee/Tea the Afternoon concluded with an extremely
entertaining and humorous speech entitled ‘A bit of this and that’ from
Susan Marshfield. Susan has been an avid fundraiser from a very early age
and kept us amused with anecdotes and funny stories surrounding her life and
family.
Saturday evening was again celebrated in true Lioness style dancing the night away to a Disco. Presentations were made to Seahaven Lioness Club for winning the Scrap Book competition and to Paddock Wood for winning the Photo Caption competition. Well done to them.

Lets boogie!!
Sunday morning commenced with a presentation and update from Nancy Kemp,
fundraiser for the Eve Appeal. MD Chairman Lioness Phyllis King presented
her with a cheque for the donations received since Conference last year.
After the open forum session, Lioness Jeannette Morgan presented the bid to host Conference 2011 by Pontefract Lioness Club. The proposed venue was the Cedar Court Hotel, Wakefield, 18th – 20th February 2011. All agreed.
We then had a presentation from Lion Penny Tregillus, MD 105 Speech and Hearing Officer. Penny introduced the new scheme being introduced in our MD for deaf people who rely on lip reading.
After a break for coffee, Deputy Co-ordinator Lion Douglas Whyte gave a presentation on Stowmarket Lions Begonia Project.
MD Chairman Elect, Lioness Pam Kyte addressed Conference.
MD Chairman Phyllis thanked the Host Committee for all their hard work in organising Conference and introduced the team.

Conference concluded with the singing of Land of Hope & Glory and Auld Lang Syne.
